They are:

  • Jean Santana, 31, of Philadelphia
  • Tucker Schimelfenig, 23, of Clarks Summit
  • Christian Schimelfenig, 23, of Clarks Summit
  • Michael Comerford, 24, of Clarks Summit

Troopers say the four were headed west on I-76 at about 1:45 a.m. on April 15 when another car "swerved across lanes of travel" and hit the rear of their vehicle, sending them into a bridge pillar. All four were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, authorities said.

The other car "spun and overturned multiple times" before coming to a stop on the right shoulder, investigators say. The driver, 31-year-old Victor A. Spizzirri, was treated for "moderate" injuries at Temple University Hospital.

State police said Spizzirri "displayed signs of impairment," and charged him with homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence, according to the accident report.
